Our Mission and Vision
Our mission is to be a church of praise and passion with people at heart. We are dedicated to:
- Preaching the gospel of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
- Helping others find biblical solutions to their problems.
- Empowering individuals to experience and produce excellence.
- Presenting ourselves in a manner consistent with the Word of God.
Vision Statement:
"A Church of Praise and Passion with People at Heart."
We aim to prepare every person who has accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior and has become part of the household of faith. Our goal is to lead them into this 21st century, to win, nurture, equip, and baptize them in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost.
Our Beliefs
At Citi Del of Praise, our beliefs are firmly rooted in Scripture. Here are some key tenets of our faith:
- The Bible: We believe the 66 books of the Bible are the inspired, inerrant Word of God and the final authority for all we believe and how we are to live. Scriptures: Matthew 5:18; John 10:35; 17:17; 2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:20-21.
- The Trinity: We believe in one true God, existing eternally in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Scriptures: Matthew 28:19; Acts 17:24-28; 2 Corinthians 13:14; Ephesians 1:9-12; 4:4-6.
- Salvation: We believe that salvation is by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone. Scriptures: John 1:12-13; 6:37-44; Romans 3-4; 8:1-17; Ephesians 2:8-10.
- The Church: We believe that the church is God's primary instrument for fulfilling His redemptive purposes on earth. Scriptures: Matthew 16:17-19; Ephesians 3:14-21; 4:11-16.
- The Second Coming: We believe in the literal second coming of Christ at the end of the age. Scriptures: Psalms 2:7-9; John 14:12; Romans 11:25-32; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-5:11.
(Our Blessed Beginnings)
Citi Del of Praise was first organized in the living room of Pastor Smith's house on Golden Pond in northeast El Paso on November 2nd, 2011. From humble beginnings, our congregation of nineteen members voted on a board to help steer our new church's direction. Our board diligently worked to file our certificate of organization with the state of Texas, and by December 9th, 2011, Citi Del of Praise was recognized as a legal entity. In April 2012, we received our 501(c)(3) recognition, marking a significant milestone in our journey.
(Growth and Expansion)
With new members joining daily, we quickly outgrew our initial meeting space. Only two weeks after our founding, we moved our Bible study and worship services to the McCall Center at 3231 Wyoming Avenue. Our next major milestone was the installation of our beloved Pastor C.W. Smith, celebrated on February 17th at Mt. Zion on 3400 Wyoming Avenue. In August 2014, we acquired a new building, providing us with a permanent home to continue our mission of worship, service, and spreading God’s word. Since that joyous occasion, our church family has grown to hundreds of members, and we have established ourselves as a multicultural and inclusive ministry, well-known in our community.
We strive to build a transparent, 21st-century, out-of-the-box church that meets the needs of all people as the Spirit of God leads us. We give God all the glory for what He has done and continues to do through our ministry.
Thank you for being a part of our journey. We look forward to growing in faith and serving alongside you.
In His Hands,
Pastor C.W. Smith Sr.
